13.9. Dismantling of the transfer case

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

We disconnect from a flange of the leading shaft of the transfer case an intermediate shaft (see Removal of an intermediate shaft)
We merge oil from the transfer case and we clear it of dirt.

We weaken a nut of a flange of the leading shaft (see Replacement of epiploons of shaft of the transfer case).

Similarly we weaken nuts of two other flanges. We remove the speedometer drive gear wheel case (see Removal of the case of gear wheels of the drive of a speedometer and the sensor of speed of the VAZ-21214 car (the case of a gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer of the VAZ-21213 car)).

Head "on 13" we turn off five nuts of a case of the drive of the forward bridge.

Having hooked the screw-driver for inflows a case, …

… we remove it …

… and laying.

Having hooked the screw-driver a lock washer, …

… we take out an axis of the lever of blocking of differential (at difficulty we beat out a drift from soft metal).

We remove the lever of blocking of differential and plastic plugs of an axis.

We remove the switch of a control lamp of blocking of differential (see Replacement of the switch of a control lamp of blocking of differential).

We remove a lever spring from a rod of a fork of blocking of differential.

Head "on 13" we turn off four nuts of fastening of a cover of a case of the drive of the forward bridge.

We uncover also laying.

We take out a spring and we shake out a clamp ball from a case nest.

Cap key "on 10" we turn off a lock bolt of a fork of the coupling of blocking of differential.

We take out a bolt with a spring washer.

We hook the screw-driver a protective cover of a rod of a fork of blocking of differential …

… also we take out a rod with a cover.

We take out a fork …

… and coupling of blocking of differential.

We turn off the nut of fastening of a flange which is up to the end weakened earlier and we remove a washer.

We remove a flange.

Having squeezed nippers, we take out a lock ring of the bearing of a shaft of the drive of the forward bridge.

We take out a shaft assembled from a case.

We remove from the forward end of a shaft a maslootrazhatel and a persistent ring.

Having hooked on a three-armed stripper on an external ring of the bearing, …

… we press the bearing.

Head "on 13" we turn off eight nuts of fastening of a back cover to a case of the transfer case.

Having hooked the screw-driver, …

… we uncover assembled with shaft of the drive of the back bridge …

… and laying.

We take out a shaft of the drive of the back bridge from a back cover and we sort similar to a shaft of a forward case.

Key "on 13" we turn off two nuts of fastening of an arm of the lever of gear shifting to a case of the transfer case …

… also we remove a gear shifting arm with the lever.

The lever of gear shifting is disconnected from an arm similar to removal of the lever of blocking of differential.
Having turned off finally a nut of a flange of the leading shaft, …

… we remove a flange.

Key "on 13" we turn off three nuts …

… also we uncover the forward bearing of the leading shaft.

Connection is condensed with laying.

Key "on 10" we turn off four nuts of fastening of the hatch.

We remove the hatch and laying.

We remove from a gear shifting fork rod a lever spring (similar to that, as shown in a photo 9) and we shift a rod cover (as shown in a photo 15).

In the hatch a cap key "on 10" we turn off a bolt of fastening of a fork to a rod.

That the ball and a spring of a clamp did not jump out, …

… we cover an opening with a finger and gradually we extend passatizham a rod.

At the same time the ball of a clamp drops out through a side opening of a case.

We take out a spring of a clamp tweezers.

Extending a rod further, we remove a gear shifting coupling fork …

… and remote plastic plug.

We take out a rod.

Rods of a fork of blocking of differential and fork of gear shifting are condensed with rubber rings. Let's show their removal on the example of a gear shifting fork rod ring.

Having hooked the screw-driver, …

… we take out a sealing rubber ring.

Raskontrivayem of a nut of back bearings of the leading and intermediate shaft.

Cap key "on 27" we turn off one of nuts, holding from a provorachivaniye shaft for other nut a key or a head of the same dimension.

We remove a nut and a washer.

We insert bolts of fastening of the driveshaft into openings of a flange and we put on a flange vents of the leading shaft of the transfer case.

We turn off the second nut, holding shaft from a provorachivaniye the assembly shovel implanted between bolts.

We remove a nut and a washer. We remove a flange of the leading shaft.

We remove a persistent ring of the forward bearing of the leading shaft.

Key "on 13" we turn off three remained nuts of fastening of a forward cover of the transfer case.

Other nuts of this cover were turned off at dismantle of a cover of the forward bearing of the leading shaft, case of the drive of the forward bridge and an arm of the lever of gear shifting.

We remove a forward cover of the transfer case with differential.

We remove laying from hairpins of a case of the transfer case.

Passatizhami is removed an adjusting ring of the forward bearing of the case of differential.

We separate differential and a forward cover of the transfer case.

We take out (or we beat out through a drift from soft metal) from a nest of a forward cover an external ring of the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft.

By nippers it is unclenched a lock ring of the forward bearing of the case of differential …

… also we remove it.

We remove a spring washer.

We establish in an opening of the forward case of differential a suitable emphasis for the stripper screw …

… and three-armed stripper …

… we press the forward bearing.

If necessary the back bearing is similarly removed.
On forward and back cases of differential we put tags that at assembly not to break balancing of knot.
Having clamped the differential case in a vice with overlays of sponges from soft metal, …

… a cap key "on 17" we turn off six bolts fastening the conducted gear wheel, forward and back cases of differential.

We separate forward and back cases of differential.

At the same time the conducted gear wheel remains on the forward case.

We force down her from the case through a drift from soft metal.

We separate the conducted gear wheel and the forward case of differential.

We remove a basic washer from a gear wheel of the drive of the forward bridge …

… also we take out a gear wheel.

By nippers it is unclenched a lock ring of an axis of satellites and we remove it.

We remove a spring washer of an axis of satellites.

Having hooked on passatizham for other lock ring, we take out an axis of satellites.

We take out a basic washer and the satellite from the back case of differential.

Having taken out the second satellite and its washer, we take a gear wheel of the drive of the back bridge.

For removal of primary and intermediate shaft …

… by passatizha it is removed an adjusting ring of the back bearing of the leading shaft.

Similarly we dismantle a ring of the back bearing of an intermediate shaft.

We take out the leading shaft from a case...

... and intermediate shaft.

We clamp a shlitsevy part of the leading shaft in a vice with overlays of sponges from soft metal, …

… and, having hooked on stripper paws for the gear shifting coupling, …

… we remove the back bearing, the plug, a gear wheel of the lowest transfer and the coupling.

We remove a nave of the coupling and a gear wheel of the highest transfer from a shaft.

The stripper pressed the forward bearing of the leading shaft.

From the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft the screw-driver we take out rollers …

… also we remove a separator.

We clamp an intermediate shaft in a vice with overlays of sponges from soft metal.

Hooking two assembly shovels, we press an internal ring of the forward bearing …

… also we remove it.

We remove the back bearing of an intermediate shaft also as the forward bearing of the leading shaft.
We assemble the transfer case in the return sequence.
At assembly of interaxal differential we combine tags on its cases.
We establish a spring washer on an axis of satellites from a deaf opening at an axis end face.
Suitable pieces of pipes napressovyvay …

… internal ring of the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft, …

… the bearing of a shaft of the drive of the forward bridge (the pipe leans on an internal ring) …

… and differential bearings.

In the same way napressovyvay bearing of a shaft of the drive of the back bridge, back bearing of an intermediate shaft, forward and back bearings of the leading shaft.
We establish the leading and intermediate shaft in a case of the transfer case at the same time.
We grease all sealing laying with a thin layer of silicone sealant.
Having tightened nuts of back bearings of the leading and intermediate shaft the determined moment, we stop nuts, having pressed their fillets into grooves of shafts of shaft.
After assembly we fill in oil (see oil Replacement).

1 — a case;
2 — the plug;
3 — the lug rest;
4 — a hairpin

Repair of fastening of a hairpin of a case of the transfer case

At the transfer case happens the right (long) lug in which the special hairpin fixing a box to an arm is pressed bursts. For repair it is possible to turn the plug from duralumin, as shown in the drawing, all edges on the rest of a lug were washed down and to saw round its outer diameter densely to put the plug. Having established a fastening hairpin in an opening, it is necessary to napressovat the plug against the stop and to weld it on perimeter on the box case.
