13.8. Removal of the transfer case

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Work is carried out on a viewing ditch or the elevator.

In interior of the car we remove wires from the switch of a control lamp of blocking of differential (see Replacement of the switch of a control lamp of blocking of differential).
We disconnect from the transfer case a flexible shaft of the drive of a speedometer (see Removal of a flexible shaft of the drive of a speedometer), and for the VAZ-21214 car also the speed sensor (see Removal of the sensor of speed).
We disconnect forward and back driveshafts from the transfer case (see Removal of the driveshaft).

Cap key "on 19" we turn off a nut of a bolt of fastening of the elastic coupling to a transmission flange, holding a bolt a key of the same dimension.

Similarly we turn off nuts of two other bolts.

Collar (under diameter of 135 mm) we press out the elastic coupling in order that it was possible to take out bolts.

In the absence of a collar of big length we use two shorter, having implanted a uvula of one into the lock of another.

We take out bolts on one: we turn the elastic coupling so that the bolt moved forward in the hollow located on the left side of a back cover of the transmission.

We establish an adjustable emphasis under the transfer case. We mark the provision of two arms of a suspension bracket of the transfer case on a body and we turn off four nuts of fastening of arms (see Removal of an arm of a suspension bracket of the transfer case).

Lowering an emphasis and shifting the transfer case back, we remove it together with an intermediate shaft.

The transfer case can be removed also without intermediate shaft, having disconnected its fastening to a flange of the leading shaft of the transfer case (see Removal of an intermediate shaft).
We install the transfer case in the return sequence.
After installation it needs to be ottsentrovat. For this purpose we hang out forward and back axes of the car. Under a beam of the back bridge we substitute support so that the back bridge adopted the same provision in what it is when the car costs on wheels. We turn on the transfer case, we start the engine, we include direct transfer of the transmission and we increase engine turns. At emergence of vibration of the transfer case we stop the engine and we weaken nuts of fastening of arms of its suspension bracket. Moving the transfer case, we try to obtain elimination of its vibration at the working engine (adjusting laying which is established between arms and a body for this purpose can be required). In this situation finally we tighten nuts of fastening of arms of a suspension bracket of the transfer case.
